This makes no sence to me, ecto prices are actually up, there are hovering between 5.5 and 4.8k, these were prices pre shadowform buff, why do they feel the need to nerf a buff after it been around for nearly a year.
BTW the idiot who said people couldn't clear the first room in UW in 2006 in the same time as people are finishing uw now. Invisimonk was around then, you could solo the whole UW back then. And back then it was before aoe scatter, and other anti-farming measures. Do you honestly think a invisimonk couldn't clear chamber in 15 minutes....

Why not just change the AI on the terrorwebs to make them use inferno when only one person is standing by them. I think sliver range is probably larger than inferno's, but it would make it a decent amount more difficult. Get too close to a mob and you insta-death.
Or would this screw it up for regular groups as well?

don't be dumb. you absolutely cannot join a pug and hope to complete UW or FoW in a balanced team of any sort. all you need is for one or two people to not know their way around and you're all dead. if you want, i'll come with you sometime and we'll pick up 6 other random people and we'll see how far we get. i know my way around and apparently you do too. let's see if 6 other randoms can get it done. i'll even use the scroll and we'll go in NM to make it even easier. we won't win. i can almost guarantee it.

Assuming you don't take the mending wammo and the healing breeze/firestorm monk who joins yeah you can, assuming the team is mildly competent and listens to directions. If you use PvE skills it becomes rediculously easy like the rest of the game. Now if you are talking about getting the first 6 random nubs who ask to join without any kind of quality control you might have a point, but UW and FoW are really well designed to support nearly any well rounded build, unlike the rest of the so-called elite areas.

So I spent the week rolling an ele for this new crap (let me check how many hours I wasted, ah 24 hours on the char), getting him set up. Well I was stupid to start playing again right? I mean when isn't this game anti-everything the players are doing.

I feel your pain that very same day i decided to set up my elementalist for the terra build and even bought my char a blindfold just because i was "going" to be earning my new fortune. Anet, leave Pve Alone what did it ever do to you? :P

It is still an awesome consumable even with its nerf. No need to whine about it.

Just wondering...in theory, and this is just a thought, if A-net said they were trying to "balance" the essence by making it close to the other cons in terms of power, couldn't, and this is just theory, couldn't it be possible they buff armor and grail? You know, like an extra pip of health regen, or +2 attribute instead of +1 on the armor, pretty much making UW viable again. Again idk either way, I'll prolly just get back to using assassin in UW XD. Although I would assume if you're trying to balance the cons, A-net would try to bring armor and grail to essence's level.

I would hope that additional power creep is not the goal here.

Apparently, GW dies more than Kenny from South Park and Starscream from Transformers Animated combined.
Come on, fellow GW players... We've gotten over the past nerf... and the nerf before that... and the nerf before that... and the nerf before that... and the nerf before that... and the nerf before that... and the... oh, you get the point.
Look at Ursan. It's been nerfed but I still see Ursan groups forming... sometimes.

I find it hilarious that we get threads proclaiming consumables to be one of the reasons that GW has died, and now that one of them has been nerfed from 25% to 20% bonus...GW has died. Again. WTF is wrong with you people...
|
OMG!! That's where my E/A was failing - no consumables!!!! How was I coping before EoTN came out (I obviously wasn't)...
Ditto - cue another thread from the EoTN newcomers "GW is dead cos we have to use skillz and buildz and runez"
Hands up for a "consumables crafters guild walk-out weekend"...

Really I don't understand the point. What is that, to steamroll Uw in order to get an uber rare weapon? These weapons are so easy to get that everyone could get them, getting easy ectos? You can farm em way faster. I stopped doing Uwsc right after I got my eternal blade, and that was on my 2nd uwsc group ever.

That is because Ursan still works, and probably even better than it used to be before.

We could divide ToA groups in two types
Right party : "I do fow/uw in 1hour with cons, 1 hour and 15-20 minutes without "
Wrong party: "I do fow/uw in 15 minutes, can't do it without cons".
ToA hosted only the second type of group, on top of that 80% of them failed .
|
Omg yes! Personally i would rather do a UWSC in an hour w/o cons. the old balanced way with Obby flesh tanks. I find that the SF tanks just ruined the fun in doing FoW/UW/Urgoz etc. If i saw somone doing DoA in Under and hour WITHOUT cons i would have much much more respect for them compared to someone who did it under an hour easily WITH cons.
Thank you Anet, can we remove cons completely, maybe SF nerf? Cryway nerf?
